The body of a 21-year-old girl was discovered in her residence at the Warriors Base Camp in Magoebaskloof sometime during Sunday morning this past weekend. She was one of the Warriors Facilitators and lived on the property with the rest of team.
Atarah Katzeff was originally from Cape Town but like many young adults from across the world, she completed her Warriors Gap year programme and went on to complete her Multi-Activity Adventure Instructor programme in her second year, before deciding to join the team this year.
“A staff member’s body was discovered on Sunday around 12 noon in her bedroom. We do not know the cause of death as yet, as police investigations are currently underway and there is a postmortem being conducted. No foul play is suspected,” said Rowena Viljoen, programme director at Warriors. “This is a huge tragedy and we ask that her family and friends be granted privacy and respect during this traumatic time.”
At the time of this article there was very little information other than that her parents had been informed and they were in Tzaneen. We also heard from a source that a private investigator was appointed to assist in the investigation.
We will have more information in our next edition.
