The new informal settlement developing in the middle of the town center.

The Greater Tzaneen Municipality remains mum on the illegal squatters who have erected their illegal shacks behind the now almost
completely destroyed R1 million concrete palisade in Claude Wheately Street.

Last week Bulletin reported on the four houses that have been erected on the open piece of land behind this palisade fence, and this week
we drove past there again, and there are now two more houses erected at the site.

We have asked the Municipality for comment on the matter and an indication of when and how they plan on removing these illegal settlers.
At the time of going to print, neither the GTM nor the DA Ward Councillor overseeing the area, have given any feedback on the issue and it
remains a growing (literally) concern.
