Tzaneen Country Club set the scene for the popular annual charity golf day presented through the collaboration by Smit & Kie Brokers and the Paint Pot Group in Tzaneen. This year’s event was hosted on the 7th of October.
The two-ball pair of Walter Herfurth and Gert van Zyl emerged as the eventual winners. Frikkie Opperman teamed up with Juan Vorster and had a good round of play amidst the fierce competition in searing conditions. They eventually settled for second place. In third place were Ockert Maritz and Matie McCallaghan.
The prize for the player who recorded the longest drive of the day was handed to Ryan Hyde with Tiaan Fullard winning the prizes for the ‘Zookeeper of the Day’ and for the player closest to the pin. The award for the top sponsor for the day went to Luxor.
According to Janica Steyn from Paint Pot Tzaneen and one of the co-organisers of this Charity Golf Day, the proceeds of this event still needs to be determined and once that is done, the raised amount as well as the beneficiaries will be announced.
