Shammar Ngobeni also received her Limpopo netball colours during the course of this year.

Shammar Ngobeni from Ben Vorster High School received the news last week that she was selected for the South African u/18 netball team.

The u/18 Proteas team will participate in the upcoming Region 5 Youth Games that will be held in Maseru, Lesotho, from the 3rd until the 12th of December.

This was after the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region 5 Troika of ministers recently met and announced that the rescheduled 2020 Region 5 Youth Games.

It is the ninth edition of these games which were originally scheduled for the 4th to the 13th of December last year, before the Covid-19 pandemic brought all sports to an abrupt halt.
