There is a new bike repair shop in town. This couple who are passionate motorcycle owners and enthusiasts, Deon and Adri Serfontein, recently open the doors of the GT Bike Workshop. Photos: Roelof de Jonge

Deon and Adri Serfontein, better known as “Grimm” and “Tequila” amongst their fellow riders from the Chrome Motorcycle Club in Tzaneen, combined their expertise and passion for motorbikes to establish an exclusive motorbike workshop for Tzaneen and surrounding areas.

The GT Bike Workshop officially opened it doors to the public on Monday the 7th of June. The signature of the Serfontein’s workshop was taken from the Nicolas Cage movie, Ghost Rider, which also serves in memory of their fallen Chrome rider, Erens van Vuuren, who passed away in an accident on the 19th of February this year.

Deon has been riding motorcycles since he was eight years old and has been repairing motorcycles for almost his whole life. Adri has years of experience in financial administration, and together this formidable couple is adamant that they will soon establish GT Bike Workshop as the most referred motorcycle repair workshop in town.

Couple Deon and Adri Serfontein and avid biker themselves, are ready to welcome clients at their new business venture in Tzaneen, GT Bike Workshop.

Aside from servicing of all kinds of motorcycle’s, be it cruiser bikes, off -road scramblers, speed bikes or even quads, the Serfontein’s new workshop offers a park and sales service for clients. The work-shop does however not sell spare parts, which makes them even cheaper to their customers who will source their own spares and simply pay for labour or a general service done to the bikes.

Only on request from clients, will this workshop purchase the required parts needed for a service.They will also off er a service to help sell your motorbike to potential customers either through a photograph sent to them over any of the messenger apps, or by physically displaying your bike at their workshop. They will not charge you a fee, only a pre-agreed commission on the sale.

Similarly, the couple will sell secondhand accessories like jackets, boots, saddles etc. Speaking of leather, the Serfontein’s are proud to offer the service of a dedicated leather smith from Pretoria who assists them in creating leather seats and accessories according to the client’s preferences.

Furthermore, GT Bike Workshop offers an emergency towing service if a client has a break down. For repairs, purchases or just to pop in to enjoy a welcoming cup of coffee with Deon and Adri, the business hours of GT Bike Workshop are from Monday to Friday from 07:30 until 17:00 and on Saturday from 07:30 until 13:00.
